I discovered jewellery making in 2002 when I bought my first kit. I can’t claim that the end results were great, however I was very proud of what I had made and was hooked! Whilst still working in the corporate world, each year I would focus on mastering a new technique, attending courses, completing lots of self-learning and practise, practise, practise to develop my skills. During this time jewellery making became my dream job and in 2009 I left my IT career and took the plunge into full-time jewellery making & teaching.
Only 3?! Then it has to be Chain Maille, Metal Clay and Wirework. These techniques never cease to amaze me with their ability to turn non-descript materials into something truly amazing.
Creating a design where every element is designed and hand-crafted by me. It's that thrill of excitement when I look at something I've created and think 'I made that' - gets me every time!
The colour combinations, textures and shapes created by nature.
Awarded 2nd place in the Chain Maille & Wirework Category of the 2011 British Bead Awards, regular contributor to UK jewellery making magazines.
This seed pod ring, crafted from metal clay. I love wearing this piece , it’s a real conversation starter!
