Class Time: 10.00 - 17.00
Let us introduce you to Silver Clay - an amazing material comprising ground silver particles, a non-toxic organic binder and water that has revolutionised jewellery making. Fabulous for creating components such as your own charms, pendants, beads and clasps, it is worked like modelling clay, dried to remove the water and then fired with a torch or kiln to fuse the metal particles together. During firing the binder burns off leaving a piece that is 99% hallmark quality Fine Silver.
As an Accredited Training Centre for The PMC Studio, the UK distributor for Precious Metal Clay (PMC), all our metal clay classes are led by a Senior Instructor, ensuring you receive the highest quality of training and benefit from our many years of experience.
During this jewellery making workshop your tutor will teach you about the tools needed, and how to texture and form and fire your creations - basically everything needed to get started with Silver Clay from home. You will also learn how to set gemstones and capture natural forms, and will practise what you have learnt making an embellished stone-set pendant and a leaf pendant, or charms if you prefer, to your own design that can be made into earrings or attached to a necklace or bracelet. At the end of the session we will make these into jewellery ready to wear.
Please note the cost of this workshop excludes materials, which are available to purchase on the day.
